On June 10, 2025 my wife and I were exploring Idstein with some of my wife’s friends from back home. I have a coffee spot here that I really enjoy but I decided to, on a whim, look on Google Maps to see if there were any tea shops in town. Lo and behold, there is one! Right in the main square of town.
While my wife went to check out the garden, I poked my head into the tea shop. It was very well decorated. It had a few iced tea samples at the front door. Plenty of loose leaf teas to buy and loads of teaware and tea storage.
I have recently purchased a few teas and am lacking in proper storage vessels. So this was a perfect opportunity to fix that problem. I grabbed the matching tea tin for the one I had a home already and headed to the check out. I noticed a pile of matcha chocolate chip cookies. She made sure to mention that she bakes them on site. So, of course, I bought all three she had out (they ended up being so good).
I started asking the owner some questions about the store and complimenting its layout. She informed me that she has only had it for a year now. It makes sense that I never saw it before because I haven’t been to Idstein for a little over a year now.
I thanked her and was on my way to boast to my wife about this cool new tea shop I found. Once reunited with my wife, I went to Google Maps to review the shop and noticed someone comment that she made iced matcha lattes.
Well, June 10 is National Iced Tea Day in the US and I intended to celebrate. So I walked back to the shop and ordered an iced matcha latte for everyone in our group! She looked so surprised to see me since I had just left 5 minutes prior.
This shop was great. She even does tea tasting classes for people. If you are ever in Idstein, Germany, you have to check this place out! Totally worth a stop.
